FAQ

Questions about temporary event links

PingGuests is built for simple, live guest announcements during short-lived events.

Do guests need an account?

No. Guests open the event link or scan the QR code and see live updates without creating an account.

Can I use PingGuests for a presentation or course?

Yes. PingGuests works well for presentations, workshops, classes, courses, trainings, pop-ups, conferences, community events, and private gatherings where people need short live updates.

How long does an event link last?

Each event link expires 24 hours after it is created. Expired links show a clean expired state.

What happens to event data after 24 hours?

The event, messages, message views, and likes are scheduled for deletion after the 24-hour expiration point. Expired links are blocked immediately, while background deletion can have normal processing delay.

Can hosts see who viewed a message?

PingGuests shows counts for how many guest sessions saw the latest message and how many liked it. It does not show a guest directory in this version.

Is PingGuests event planning software or course software?

No. PingGuests is a temporary live update link for real-time announcements, not a full planning suite, LMS, chat app, or course platform.

What can hosts send?

Hosts can send preset pings like Dinner ready, Cake time, Ceremony starting, Group photo outside, or a short custom message.

Does the guest page update live?

Yes. Guest pages subscribe to Firestore real-time updates and show new announcements without a page refresh.

Can guests chat?

No. Guests can like the latest message, but this version does not include chat, RSVP, SMS, photos, or guest accounts.
